Flushing from alcohol

On behalf of Debbie:
Whenever i drink alcohol i seem to get a flush. It's not just red wine that seems to cause it because it happens with other alcohol too! Is it just alcohol in general that causes you to get a flush?

Re: Flushing from alcohol

Dear Debbie,

Thank you for you question. Rosacea often manifests as flushing (although some patients also develop spots). There are many triggers of flushing and one of the most common triggers is alcohol. Other common triggers are caffein, spicy food, anxiety, exercise, wind, hot air, hot drinks. Sunlight often aggravates rosacea in longer term.
There is an effective treatment now available for flushing rosacea - Mirvaso gel. There is more information on Rosacea and Mirvaso on my website if it is of any interest ( http://alexandroff.org.uk/patients.html )

I hope this is helpful.

With best wishes,
