Arthritis pain spreading - help!
On behalf of Amanda:
I have had rheumatoid arthritis for approximately five years, I am currently taking hydroxychloraquine and ibuprofen - my consultant has recently given me arcoxia, which is making me feel nauseous and dizzy - in the past my RA has been limited to my hands and wrists however over the past 6 months I have been suffering from excruciating pain in my hip and leg - is there anything you can suggest, I’ve started doing a little more regular exercise (walking) - I am reluctant to change medication as I have heard such horror stories about some others - I’ve recently had an x ray and am waiting for an appointment for an MRI - I’m going on holiday in a month and just need something to ease the symptoms - any advice would be appreciated - thanks Amanda

This all depends weather you are having pain from active inflammed joints or not.
There are a variety of medication available with potential side effects but most people do not have a problem on them.
You need to see if your investigations can be speeded up at all, or go back to your Specialist Nurse/Rheumatologist for further advice on management in the interim.
