Folliculitis

I've had this for years and was recently given Zineryt to help. This barely helps, can you suggest any other remedy that gets rid of it better?

Thanks

Re: Folliculitis

Dear Markyisone,

Many thanks for taking the time to post a question. Folliculitis is a common condition which involves inflammation of the hair follicles - it can occur in any hair-bearing site on the body - i presume you are suffering with it on the face which is why you have been given zineryt.

There are other treatments that can be helpful depending on the site it affects and severity of the condition. We occasionally use tetracycline based antibiotics for troublesome folliculitis and prescribe this for 6 weeks or so depending on the extent.

I would highly suggest you see your GP for review so they can properly assess you and step up your treatment plan accordingly if Zineryt is failing to control the issue.

Best wishes,

Anjali
