Necrobiosis lipoidica

Hi there,
Do you have any advise for necrobiosis lipoidica sufferers please? I have developed this ugly disease shortly after my LADA diabetes diagnosis. The patches on my skin are spreading and the disease is literally eating away the tissue underneath. I know there is no cure and there is not even any research being done. The (very few) treatment options are useless and nobody can even tell me which creams to avoid and which ones are good.
At the moment i'm using Aveeno or Loccitane lotion.

Thanks a lot
Irene

Re: Necrobiosis lipoidica

Sorry to hear about this.

Although necrobiosis lipoidica can be hard to treat, there are options. This really needs to be dealt with by a dermatology centre. We often try strong steroid creams, steroid injections or occasionally other tables which can help. Lower limb compression can often be helpful to encourage wound healing in the lower legs.

Good luck with your treatment.
