ROSACEA

I'm 64 and have always had very good skin and have never suffered from spots but now I'm finding that I'm getting rosacea and a break out of spots .A doctor prescribed Metrogel which I used as prescribed for two months but it hasn't made much difference. Is there a better option as I'm getting very embarrassed by the redness and horrible spots which are on my nose and cheeks.I do not feel like leaving the house when the breakout starts as I feel very self conscious.

Re: ROSACEA

I'm so sorry to hear this.

Please do pursue treatment. Metrogel is just the beginning. There are several other creams such as topical ivermectin, azelaic acid as well as oral antibiotics which can be really helpful. Do discuss this with your doctor.

Remember to protect against UV and keep all skin care very gentle and hydrating.

Best wishes.
