Rash won't go away

I have a small, dry, reddish brown patch of skin on my lower back that won't go away completely. Its not itchy but is frustrating. My GP couldn't diagnose it but suggested Hydrocortisone 1% cream which has helped, but its still faintly there. Do you know what it is / will it come back again? I keep it moisturised generally and have had it several years.

Hi there,

It's really difficult to give an exact diagnosis without seeing the patch.

Given that it's been there for a few years, it would be worth discussing a referral to a dermatologist with your GP. They may then proceed to a skin biopsy if necessary.
