I have mature skin but still suffer from breakouts & blemishes, which moisturisers seem to make worse.
Any recommendations on products or skincare routines would be appreciated

stick with non-comedogenic (non pore blocking products) such as a cream cleanser and oil free moisturiser. The french pharmacy brands are good for this. Then I would try a retinol containing product which will hopefully help with breakouts. If this doesn't help, see your GP for a medicated retinoid.
