Hypothyroid and skin changes

Since I got Hypothyroid, my skin started to change. I developed rosacea with extremely dry and flaky skin and no matter how strong moisturiser I use, my skin still feels dry and rough. My skin has become more sensitive so it becomes very difficult to choose between products. How can I tackle my skin dryness especially when outside in cold harsh weather, Please advise. Thanks.

Re: Hypothyroid and skin changes

HI there,
Make sure you cut out any foaming washes, alcohol based toners or scrubs. Use a non-fragranced cream based cleanser and a rich, unfragranced moisturiser. If this doesn't help, see your GP for anti-inflammatory creams which can help with the rosacea.

Best wishes.
