cracked skin
I'm suffering from cracks on my fingers and, particularly, thumbs. I used to get cracks on my heels but now prevent these by applying skin cream after my bath. My hands, however, are constantly exposed to air, water, etc. and the cracks which develop are slow to heal (and very painful!). Can you recommend anything, please?

Re: cracked skin
HI there,
Wear gloves for wet work/cleaning etc, try and avoid soap and use an emollient based wash as much as possible. Use a thick greasy medical moisturiser at night and something more practical throughout the day (avoid fragrances). If this doesn't help, see your GP for some anti-inflammatory steroid cream.
