Itchy nose, no rash!

I often get an intensely itchy face, centred on my nose. It normally comes on in the evening and will keep me awake during the night, or wake me up if I do manage to drop off. I've tried many different creams and antihistamines and ice/heat packs but nothing really helps Piriton is my go-to at the minute mainly for the drowsy effect. It is normally gone my the next morning, but I'm left with sore skin after itching. I've had eczema all my life and moisturise my face at least twice daily. It seems to happen most often at the weekend so think it might be related to food, as I eat more varied then.

My GP isn't interested in investigating this further or referring me to a dermatologist or allergist. Any ides what could be causing this?

Re: Itchy nose, no rash!

Thank you for your question. I am so sorry to hear about your skin problem! In your case it sounds like it may be related to your eczema. Have you tried steroid creams/ointments e.g. eumovate? or non stroidal active treatments like pimecrolimus /elidel?
