Age spots

I am developing what people used to call age spots on my hands and face. I have always applied high factor (30 or above) for as long as I can remember and continue to do so. I have one on my upper lip which for years is slowly growing in size, is darkening and has developed an uneven texture. Should this be investigated. My GP has never commented on it when I have visited re other things.

Re: Age spots

Hi there,
I would certainly have the area around your lip checked especially it's been changing recently.
History of the mole / freckle has been doing is very important and even if the GP thinks it's fine, it's nice to have the reassurance rather that assuming it's fine. When it comes to skin cancer, early diagnosis leads to better patient outcomes. If your GP is unsure, he can always send you to see a dermatologist.
All the best!
