thick waxy marks that peel

I have lived in Aus in my 20's when sun protection was not used. Now in my 60's I have a number of small circular dry patches and a couple that develop a thickened waxy skin and then peel off. They do not bleed and then repeat the cycle. I have had one 'skin cancer' of the non spreading type removed but that used to bleed a little. I have shown them to my GP a couple of years ago and they have not grown. Should I have any concern.

Re: thick waxy marks that peel

Hi there,
Having lived and worked in New Zealand, I am very familiar with the elements that people who live there have to contend with and the extensive sun damage that one can develop.
From the description you provide, I don't think there is any major reason for concern.
However, given that you have had a skin cancer and lived in Australia, I would advise you to see your GP or a dermatologist. Although the Kiwis and Aussies may not have a harmonious relationship, they do have one thing in common and that's skin cancer!!
Wish you all the best!
