Pelvic congestion

I am suffering from pelvic congestion and the only option given to me has been hysterectomy. Are there any other treatments available please?

Re: Pelvic congestion

Hello

Always a bit of a leap into the dark having a hysterectomy for pelvic pain, It's possible to have an injection that temporarily makes you menopausal which is akin to a medically induced hysterectomy, if the pain goes then there is a good chance the more permanent surgical hysterectomy will work.

Other long term medical treatment to try and stop your periods might help such as the contraceptive injection/implant even the mirena coil

Have you had an MRI scan of the pelvis to check for pelvic/ovarian vein incompetence (a bit like varicose veins in the pelvis) sometime venous or uterine artery embolisation can help to reduce the vascularity of the pelvis.
