Azelaic acid

Postby Ofelia79 on Sat Jul 15, 2017 3:53 pm

Hi, I was wondering if anyone is familiar with Melazepam?

I've been using The Ordinary's azelaic acid (10%) on one side of my face for just over a month and things seem okay: I'm still getting the occasional zit but my cheek is pretty much back to its default pink state (vs raging red), so I want to try something with a higher acid percentage. I'd like to take even out my skin tone and help fade some old acne scars - something azelaic acid is supposed to help with.

There are great reviews on Amazon for Melazepam from people who claim it helped their rosacea, so naturally I'm suspicious. Also, it contains mineral oil. :-/

Any thoughts on this product? (Unfortunately I can't afford Finacea.)

I think the word acid scares me a bit to much to use. Do you know of any reported side effects?

Hi Wheezeys, it's not as scary as it sounds. (I freaked out, too, the first time I heard the name.) :)
Azelaic acid is actually gentler than BHAs and it's found in a rosacea Rx medication called Finacea.

I can't afford Finacea right now so I've been looking for alternatives. Although I just found some online Australian pharmacies that sell it for much less...

If you're interested in learning more about azelaic acid, this is what first introduced me: http://www.xojane.com/beauty/skin/azela ... -treatment
