Allergy to metal

Postby LORRAINE TERESA on Thu Nov 23, 2017 5:26 pm

I am 61 years old and its not until the last few years that I can no longer wear any jewellery which is not gold, even my glasses gave me a rash which was very painful, the arms had a bit of nickel or similar so I had to get some plastic ones. Why is this happening to me now please?

It is quite common to develop reactions to substances that touch our skin -contact allergies - over time. I would advise you speak to your doctor about being patch tested to clarify. Meanwhile, avoid all nickel containing substances - there are kits you can buy which can instantly test a metal to see if it contains nickel.
Good luck
