Dear Claire,
thank you for your question. It sounds like you may suffer from acne or rosacea. For acne (there are usually comedones - whiteheads and/or blackheads) a benzoyl peroxide wash over counter may be sufficient, otherwise ask your GP or dermatologist if they can prescribe you Epiduo gel (a fixed combination of benzoyl peroxide and retinoid) and /or oral antibiotics (usually for 3 months or longer) and/or a combined contraceptive pill. If this does not work Roacutane/ isotretinoin, a very strong medicine, can be considered by your dermatologist under a very strict supervision and monitoring.

For Rosacea (milky spots on central face, usually accompanied by redness and/or flushing) a new non antibiotic cream (Soolantra) and /or oral antibiotics can be tried.

If you would like to read more about acne or rosacea and available treatment please see my website if it is of interest to you.

I hope this is helpful.

With best wishes,
