Is anyone able to explained why my chin looks like this?

Postby partygoose123 on Wed Nov 20, 2019 7:42 pm

I’ve had pretty much clear skin since January this year. But I moved to uni in September and shortly after my chin started looking like this? I thought it might be perioral dermatitis maybe caused by the toothpaste I’ve been using? I’ve heard birth control can cause it but I’ve been on the same birthcontrol for nearly a year now and it’s what originally cleared up my skin. Anyone know how I can treat it? The photo it’s great sorry

Hi partygoose123

Thank you for your post and photo. Have you been to your GP about the redness, we just wonder whether they had diagnosed anything. We have two wonderful support programmes that you may find helpful, one is myrosacea, http://www.talkhealthpartnership.com/psp/rosacea.php this is a 12 week programme of dedicated information, sent to you by email in bite-size chunks. Every week there is a PDF for you to download or print containing practical information about how to manage rosacea, written by talkhealth and medical experts.

Some of the topics the programme covers include:

- Symptoms & treatments
- Skincare routine
- Patient stories and hints & tips
- Rosacea triggers
- Camouflage make-up
- Emotional impact and much more!

The second is mywellbeing for students, http://www.talkhealthpartnership.com/psp/wellbeing_for_students.php, this programme is a student-focused well-being support programme, which helps you improve your general health and take care of yourself during your time as a student at university.

When you sign up you can access weekly emails, including a PDF for you to download / print OR a video containing helpful information written by talkhealth and professional experts.

Some of the topics the programme covers include:

Emotional well-being
Social anxiety

And many more useful sections to help you feel your best and feel confident looking after your health and well-being.

We hope this helps.
