myhairloss support programme

myhairloss provides 20 weeks of dedicated support, sent to you by email in bite-size chunks. Every week there is a PDF for you to download or print containing practical information about all things relating to hair loss, written by talkhealth and medical experts.

The average person has between 100,000 to 150,000 hairs and will lose between 100 to 150 on a daily basis. Hair loss, or alopecia, is a condition whereby individuals find themselves losing more hairs than this, with regrowth being stunted causing a noticeable loss of hair.

Some of the topics the programme covers include:

  • Different types of hair loss
  • Treatment options
  • Psychological impacts
  • Shampoo and conditioner advice
  • Patient stories and hints & tips
  • Latest research and much more!

A very informative programme that helped me find some new tips on how to deal with hair loss, what to look for in hair products, and I also understand better the psychological effects it has on people, me included. Thank you very much for this programme!

The details about different types of alopecia was very informative. Help regarding shampoos etc was not. Other information was not relevant to me though details on wig companies and so on might be if I ever get that bad, which I hope does not happen. However having such a programme where one can ask questions and feels that one is not alone as there are other sufferers helps a little.

This programme was helpful in several ways. Firstly to know you are not alone, other people are suffering in what is often a taboo subject. Tips were useful. I feel hair loss affects a great deal of people within the UK. Keep up the good work.

I was feeling a bit embarrassed about how thin my hair was becoming and how much seemed to come out especially when blow drying. I decided to join your hair loss programme as a means of gaining information and eventually confidence to tackle any problems. I found much, but not all, information relevant to me and was helped enormously. I now use a special shampoo for sensitive scalp and dry my hair on a warm setting. I also don’t wash my hair as often as I did. I would recommend the hair loss programme to anyone who suffers and needs help.

Found it interesting and informative.  Not all parts of the programme were relevant to me personally, but it helped to know I wasn't the only one suffering from the condition.  The programme confirmed what the health professionals had told me and has made me more prepared for the time when I may have to accept I need a wig.

This was a great weekly support programme, received by email although you're also able to access the materials afterwards which is really useful. Great collaborations with various charities and leading professionals too.

I found it interesting but didn't feel that I gained much more insight than I already had (I have previously put a lot of effort into finding out about my hair loss problems).

Very supportive, full of useful interesting information and I don't feel alone with the questions I had.

Very informative programme given in bite sized pieces. This programme is particularly helpful if you suffer from partial baldness and provides links to further articles and additional reading.

The myhairloss programme provided useful weekly info-bytes on a wide range of hairloss related subjects. Even as a hair transplant surgeon, I found them interesting and informative.

Found the programme very informative.

Wow so amazing that all the little things you can do and have made such a difference.  Honestly I was very sceptical about it but the bits that I found relevant were so easy.  A happy hair day more often.

This was interesting and relevant to me. I suffered hair loss as a result of docetaxil chemotherapy treatment. It was an expected side effect but still devastating to my identity as a woman as I have always had shoulder length hair which was my pride and joy. The support programme provided information which made me accept that my hairloss would not be forever. I now have a very short 'pixie cut' and am hoping that I can once again grow my hair long!
