Vaginal dryness is a common condition that will affect many women at some point in their lives. Many women experience vaginal dryness during the menopause. However, women may also suffer from the condition when starting a hormone based contraception, using tampons for the first time, and during pregnancy and breast feeding due to reduced oestrogen levels. Additionally, health conditions such as diabetes, bladder and incontinence problems or reactions to drug therapies like Tamoxifen and Anastrozole used in cancer treatment can contribute to vaginal dryness.

I am currently going through the menopause and suffering from vaginal dryness.  I was really pleased to try the sylk intimate moisturiser.  It was very easy to use and no mess.  It was excellent consistency and lovely with being a natural product.  No irritation after use and lasted after use with no after effects.  It was compact with being individual usage and personal with being in the velvet pouch.  Nobody need know you had used.  It certainly helped with the dryness.  IIt is a product that certainly helps and with no additives or perfumes it is perfect for people with many complaints.  Plus something you could buy without having to go to the GP.

I have just used Sylk womens lubricant for the first time and found it to be perfect if you suffer from vaginal dryness/irritation, especially during sex.

Since starting the menopause I have tried several intimate lubricants to no avail as they seemed to either irritate more or wear off quickly but with the all natural Sylk it was the opposite and I am so happy to have found one that works. Before, sex was uncomfortable and not pleasurable but it has helped with the chafing, burning and itching that happened every time so it has definitely helped my sex life, because of that I would rate it 5/5 as it is safe to use too, with no nasty chemicals. I would recommend this product to friends as I was very pleased with the results.

Sylk feels just as its name suggests - it's a silky feeling moisturising gel that provides instant relief to vaginal dryness.

It ticks every possible 'box' - from the outer packaging to the inner contents:

The box has a nice neutral appearance (neither 'medical' nor embarrassingly 'sexual') and the 7 single use applicators are held in a neat, discreet drawstring bag.

The applicators are well designed with an easy snap-off top and are easy to use, providing instant soothing to sensitive tissue.

Best of all the dryness-relieving clear gel has no stickiness or perfume, and is stain free.

Sylk is a quality product, and provides effective long lasting relief to women with a variety of intimate needs since it is safe to use with tampons or condoms, and during pregnancy. or with condoms.

I have never tried any lubricants before and having become slightly menopausal have found I suffer more from dryness and soreness than before.  I was pleased to be trying a natural product which is plant based, thereby not containing any nasty chemicals.  The product wasn’t at all sticky, doesn’t smell and lasts for several hours.  It made being intimate much easier and more pleasurable.

I liked the fact that this came in single applicators (however there may have been a little too much in each) and the little bag that came with the product makes it discreet to carry around.

I used the product for about 3 days and then gave it up. Upon initial opening of the packaging, I found the product to be somewhat uncomfortable to apply. Personally, I did not like the hard, plastic applicator. I also found the single dose application to be too much in one go. Although the instructions said it could be applied from a standing position, this advice was definitely NOT suitable. This is because the moisturiser was far to runny in consistency and necessitated the use of sanitary panty liners for the rest of the day.

Because of the runny consistency of the lotion, it served no purpose at all for me, and I definitely would not purchase it.

After trying lots of different lubricants to help alleviate my vaginal dryness since reaching the menopause I only wish that I had discovered Sylk sooner.

The product itself feels very natural – not sticky at all as I have found with other lubricants, no nasty smell and only a small amount is needed (I think 3ml would have been sufficient for myself so perhaps smaller applications could also be made available). I often suffer with sensitivity to new products but I have had no adverse reaction to this product to date. The instructions are clear and the product is easy to use. I especially liked the individual packaging and that it also came with a plain cloth bag so perfect for discreet travelling.  I would definitely recommend this product.

The outer packaging on the Sylk natural intimate moisturiser is fairly innocuous and wouldn’t draw inquisitive eyes to it. Inside the box is a plain cloth bag which if you prefer, you can use to keep your single use applicators discreetly in, particularly if you are travelling.

The box contains seven single use applications, with minimal instructions on how to use. It certainly does not tell you that you need to break the seal on each individual applicator before use, which I think is a big oversight on the manufacturers part. The first time I tried to use this product I was messing around for ages trying to figure out how to get the product out of the applicator; eventually realising that you snap off the end, which is small and fiddly and potentially for an older person this could prove quite difficult.  I also found when inserting the product the snap off part can be quite sharp.

However the product itself does feel very natural and is considerably lubricating with each applicator containing 5ml of product. I think it is fair to say that not everyone will need to use the full contents of each phial as too much product can leave you very wet and uncomfortable.

It is non staining, washes away easily and now that I am familiar with how to apply the product and the amount of product to use yes I would recommend this product.

On first impressions the packaging looks very professional but discreet.  It doesn’t shout “lubricant” which when you are a woman of a certain age can be embarrassing when you have to buy it in the supermarket.  The instructions on the back of the box were very clear, not too patronising but to the point.  Upon opening the box I was surprised to find a grey cloth bag, which again I liked the idea that you can take this product on holiday with you and it doesn’t shout “lubricant”, very discreet.

On to the actual product, I am a bit squeamish about inserting anything plastic into my vagina so I opened the applicator and put some on my finger and inserted it that way as it felt more comfortable for me.  I also put some on my partner’s penis and this helped in our lovemaking.  The next time I used it I was more comfortable using it but again used the above procedure.

I was very impressed with the product and would definitely buy it again.  I liked the fact that it was a very well thought out product, very tastefully presented and did the job that you wanted it to do.

The packaging is a simple design but very well worded with clear instructions on reverse side of box. It informs consumer it is free from hormones, parabens and nasty chemicals, which is very reassuring to know.

It is a product ideal for personal intimate comfort and safe for use during lovemaking, tampon, condoms,   pregnancy and while breastfeeding.

The product contains 7 single use x5m applications.

Ease of use and effectiveness:
The applicators as easy to use and the product is unscented. The product is not sticky and has just the right amount for ease of use and comfort. Its gel like consistency is soothing which lasts for several hours with no leakage after application.

I absolutely loved the  SYLK moisturiser product. When using it, it didn't feel greasy or overly watery. I liked the individual packages that it came in. It makes it easy and discreet to store and use. It lasted a long time. I only had to use one application and it lasted throughout. I saw a definite difference while using SYLK and it made intimate experiences alot more comfortable. My husband even commented on the difference in my using the product. Compared to other products I've used its lasted longer than anything else I've ever used. I would definitely recommend it and will definitely seek SYLK out in my local chemist.

As a 40+ woman, I have recently been noticing intermittent spells of dryness when being intimate with my husband, most likely due to the onset of the menopause. I heard about this product, and was pleased to be able to try it out. It couldn't have come at a better time!

I decided to try this product out a few days after I received it, so I could compare it to the lubricant my husband and I had recently started using (Durex). I was impressed to see that the box contained 7 individually sealed tubes of the moisturiser, which are presented in a grey velour discreet drawstring pouch.

It was a little difficult to remove the cap from the tube. I wasn't sure whether to snap it off, or unscrew it.... Anyway, with the top removed I squeezed some gel onto my fingers to sample the feel of it. It was clear in appearance, and slick and silky to touch. Not sticky at all. I felt very 'thin', and I did worry it might not be suitable....However, several days later I decided to use the product during lovemaking with my husband. I only used a few drops, which were placed onto the condom, and even after that first use, I could tell that this product was a quality one, which did exactly what it says it will do on the box.

My husband was equally as impressed.  We both found that Sylk intimate moisturiser wasn't slimy, didn't dry up or coagulate in any way. It is indeed 'thin' but this in no way affects it's performance. If anything, it enhances it, by creating gentle 'slip'. It simply feels very, very natural.

I do have  some 'intimate' sensitivities  when using anything new or overly scented, but I had no problems with this product. No irritation at all so think it will be ideal for those with allergies.

My only critisism is that the tubes really need to be smaller, or they need a re-sealable cap. Only a small amount of the product is needed (in my case anyway), and I loathe to waste the remainder. Especially since I am unsure of how it 'keeps' without a lid.

As yet, I don't need to use this product regularly, but when I do begin to need it more often, it will certainly by my husbands and my first choice.  As yet, nothing else we've tried gives such a natural feel. It's even better than KY Jelly. I can recommend it to anyone who thinks they need such a product.

Upon receiving this product, I was pleasantly surprised that in the box was a lovely discreet bag containing tiny tubes of sylk, not a very big tube. I found this ideal and easy to store discreetly in a handbag or a bathroom cupboard.  I found opening the bottle a little tricky with my big sausage fingers as it is not a screw cap. Once opened, I applied the moisturiser following the instruction on the box.

I would say that the whole tube is way too much, and it didn’t go well first time, and I felt worried with too much wetness and I felt really self-conscious. I would recommend adding a bit at a time until you are happy, and not just use the whole tube as I did.  After working out how much I required, which was roughly half a tube, it felt a lot more comfortable. I do have problems when walking due to dryness, and this product solved the problem and it feels totally natural.

The moisturiser itself is a light liquid, and feels slippery. Be warned, a little goes a long way. My preferred method was to put it onto my finger.

There is no smell to the product and I didn’t have any negative side effects from using it, except for when I went overboard with using the whole tube.

It is the best moisturiser I have tried, and didn’t need to be reapplied often liken some of the other brands I have used.

I really like this product!!!
