Cardiff University: Exploring Black British Women’s Experiences of Skin Conditions and Appearance Adjustment

Cardiff University is running a trial to uncover the experience of Black British Women living with skin conditions. Sign up to take part to recieved a £10 voucher.
This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences, challenges, and coping strategies of Black women with skin conditions, and how they adjust to changes in their appearance. Your insights will contribute to a better understanding of this topic and may help inform support and intervention strategies in the future.
What will happen if I decide to take part?
You will be asked to take part in an interview which can be conducted either through Teams or in person at Cardiff University. The university can schedule a time and date that works best for you.
After the interview, the recordings will be transcribed and will be analysed to identify common themes. You may be asked for a second interview. This is to discuss the themes and clarify any further topics discussed in the initial interview. The second interview will be shorter. It is entirely up to you if you wish to decline participation in a second interview.
What will I get for taking part?
To show our appreciation for your time and any expenses incurred, such as travel costs, we will provide you with a gift voucher worth £10.
What characteristics do I have to have to take part?
You are 18 years of age or older. You self-identify as Black Caribbean/African or Mixed hertiage You have a skin condition that you are willing to discuss during the interview.
