Okay, so it was a mini-mountain…maybe a hill to the people in the know…all I know is that it was a fecking steep, hardwork, sweat-inducing, uphill something or other! ;-) Not bad for a fat lass, and certainly not bad considering I couldn’t walk more than a few yards this time last year.

I am going to cause death by photograph now…so please bear with me – I am a tad excited at the new world that is opening in front of me! Well, I was going to cause death by photograph…but our signal here is naff so I am discovering that transferring pics from different devices is proving to hard for me…I will do my best though! ;-)

First of all is a pic of the view we get whilst driving from our cottage to the road to the ferry across to Fort William…it is gorgeous and never fails to take my breath away. I wonder if the people who live around here become immune to it though? I reckon I might offer a house swap to a city-longing local. I doubt they would enjoy living next to a dual carriageway though! ;-)

20130929-190309.jpgWe headed off to Oban today…to the home of the Green Fishy Hut as I have christened it! Before visiting the fishy hut, we headed out on a boat ride. My Mum and other half were astounded at me – I kind of jumped out of the car and marched across the High Street as I could see that there was a boat about to set off. The chap was writing on his chalk board that the next boat would sail at 12.30 but it was 11am and I didn’t want to wait. So we got on that one! The reason Mum and my other half were astounded was that last year, I stayed in the car whilst they went walking…and this year, I looked like a lady on a mission and they couldn’t keep up with me! :-)

The dog came with us too and was fussed and loved by all on board! We took in some fantastic views, dreamed about winning the lottery and owning houses on the shoreline, and just had a good time. It was rather poignant really – first of all, I hate fecking boats. My earliest memory is of me, aged 3, throwing an absolute screaming tantrum whilst on a rowing boat at a country park with my Dad and Grandad at the helm. Apparently there was a bit of water in the bottom of the boat and I swore that it was sinking and screamed and screamed and generally made a real scene until they took me ashore. So boats and I aren’t the best of friends. But there I was on a boat. Also, I managed to get on the boat, which last year I couldn’t have done. And I also managed not to fall arse over tit whilst doing so! ;-)

We saw some highland cows munching on seaweed…standing in the water to get at it. I can’t upload the pic to my iPad though…so have had to take a picture of my picture…don’t ask! ;-)

20130929-193507.jpgAnd we also saw a seal – I managed to get a few shots but the slippery bugger kept hiding and I also can’t upload these properly…so it’s another picture of a picture!

20130929-200936.jpgAfter our trip on the boat, I hit the hut…fishy hut, not Pizza Hut! ;-) I adore this place. Seriously, I have never eaten better seafood. I spent about £40 and in a seafood restaurant you would pay double that. I had oysters and scallops – which Mum and I shared – and took away some salmon for my beach picnic. We then headed off to the beach and I had the most amazing view, whilst munching on smoked salmon salad…I don’t think I could have been happier! ;-) I forgot photos of the fishy hut as I was too focused on eating fish! :-)

And then we headed ‘home’, via a craft shop which I had a browse in and bought a couple of bits. This losing weight malarkey is great for my health and self-esteem…but my bank account is suffering as it means I can get out and about and spend more! Haha!

On the road home, I then had the grand idea of climbing a massive mountain (hill!) to get a good view of Inchcree Falls. Mum even decided to come with me…I think she was worried about me keeling over. We parked up, and I got out my serious shoes…these shoes mean business! My Merrells – which I had worn once to the stables – were slipped on and off we went. I got about 400 yards and said that I couldn’t do it! But I just decided that I had set my mind to it, and that I would be giving up on myself if I didn’t go for it. So I walked, and walked, and climbed, and climbed.

I did rest on every bench as my heart was beating out of my chest and I was sweating and puffing and bright red. I just kept going from bench to bench…and even rested on a rock…and then threw a couple of tantrums about how much higher I had to fecking go, and so threw myself on the gravel track for a rest…until something started biting my arse and so I got up pretty sharpish.

20130929-203625.jpgAnd this was the waterfall – not a great shot, but I have to admit I didn’t take these ones as I was too busy holding myself up, and looking at my feet – willing them on!

20130929-204248.jpgThis was one of the gentle gradients…I was climbing pretty steep at times, but my other half conveniently forgot to take a picture of that, although he was videoing me a fair bit…and I will apologise for these now. They will be shared in the future at some point, but I apologise for the swearing and generally grumpy demeanour that I have! ;-)

20130929-205400.jpgI have never been happier to see Freddie Freelander than when I spied him through the trees! I was pretty exhausted, but now feel happy and tired. I actually said to my Mum whilst we were walking, “At the moment I am pissed off and tired, but later I will be proud and happy!”…and I kind of am really. I also think – well I know, as they told me – that Mum and my other half were pretty bloody proud too – of me in Oban on a boat mission, and me climbing that hill…kind of metaphorical in a way I guess!

Given that my pictures are taking ages to upload, and that this has taken over three hours to put together, I am going to leave it there I think. Needless to say, I am having a fabulous time – I cannot put into words how great it feels to be out there doing stuff. Last year and this year are a world apart…and goodness only knows what next year will feel like!

20130929-192500.jpgA delicious food day! I am seriously sea-flooded out…but I know I will have more whilst I am here! Mum and I shared the oysters and scallops…she was pleasantly surprised by the oysters as she had never liked them before. You cannot get better seafood than we had today! My spicy fish stew had prawns, smoked salmon, muscles and scallops in – along with onion, mushrooms, green pepper, celery and spinach. To spice it up we had cumin, paprika and mustard, with Worcester sauce, pepper and garlic. The base was a herb stock pot, pasatta and chopped tomatoes. It was insanely good!

Exercise: The walk around Oban and the great big mountain I climbed! ;-)

On a health and fitness driven journey to lose over 32st / 448lbs / 203kgs – yes, it is a considerable amount – I am committed to losing my excess weight without the aid of weight loss surgery, diet pills, or quick fixes…as there aren’t any! Changing my eating habits and building up my fitness levels, along with addressing the ‘head issues’ will be crucial in order for me to achieve my goal. Living in England as a 31 year old super morbidly obese woman can be challenging to say the least. I have been shouted at in the street and verbally abused far too many times to mention; hence the name ‘Weight Loss Bitch’…the day I am just called a ‘bitch’ instead of a ‘fat bitch’ will be the day that I know I have cracked my weight loss! With many reasons to lose this weight I am documenting my journey for a number of reasons. Firstly, I would like to keep a record of the ups and downs, the highs and lows, and the challenges I face with such an enormous task to tackle. Secondly, I would also like to inspire and encourage other people who are in a similar situation and to show them that significant amounts of weight can be lost naturally…with a bit of motivation, hard work, dedication and will power. Thirdly, all of the blogging, Facebook-ing, Tweet-ing, Pinterest-ing and YouTube-ing keeps me occupied and keeps my fingers out of the fridge!
