Re: painful intercourse
It is difficult to say what the lumps are without examining them directly and they may or may not have something to do with the pain. As the vaginal lining gets thinner at menopause sex can become painful. If your GP cannot help you might consider going to your local integrated sexual health clinic....

Re: vaginal repair
I do appreciate that you are having a lot of difficulty and just wonder whether one of the newer silicone pessaries might be able to offer some more effective support and make you more comfortable. You might ask to be referred to a consultant who is familiar with these to discuss the possibilities

Re: Bleeding between periods
There are all sorts of reasons for bleeding between periods and fibroids are well down the list. It is unlikley but might be that the diannette contributes. What is important is that you are examined and all the various explanations considered. You should go either to your GP or a sexual health clin...

Re: Are varicose veins hereditary?
The tendency to varicose veins runs in families but is not directly inherited. Re: Vaginal discharge

The implant essentially works by stopping you releasing eggs and therefore you do not get the thick sticky mucus associated with ovulation. As a res...

Re: Endometrial polyp
I am a little confused as ovaries do not usually grow polyps..can you explain a little more. I would have thought an endometrial polyp (inside your womb) would have been picked up previously but they can develop.

Re: Back stiffness when menstruating
I think this is probably an effect of the hormone changes as estrogen is lowest at this time in the month.

Re: Vaginal HRT
I would disagree as there is no evidence that the very low dose of estrogen in vagifem will have any stimulant effect on the lining ot the womb with twice a week use. Addititional progestogens are not necessary. It is possible that the change in smell relates to insufficent estrogen to restore the n...

Re: Tampons fall out/retroverted uterus.
I would agree that pelvic floor exercises are likely to help both with the tampons and continence. Weight control is however very important as the pressure from above really makes things worse.
