Re: Lamotrigine

Hi Justdiagnosed I can make a guess as to why your consultant increased your lamotrigine. When epilepsy medicines are first given, then are given at a tiny dose, and gradually increased to a level that is most suitable for your particular circumstances. This is to reduce the risk of side-effects. Al...

Re: Coming off the pills

Hi Justdiagnosed It's really good to har you've been seizure free for six months. That means that the lamotrigine is working to control your seizures. But, it doesn't mean the epilepsy has gone away. Epilepsy can go away - sometimes for many years, but it can also come back. That's why, once you hav...

Re: Epanutin

Hi Tree Roots

There are some side-effects of Epanutin that could be causing your symptoms, so it's well worth checking then out with a pharmacist or your doctor. And, of course, it might be nothing to do with the Epanutin, so you still need some advice.

All the best

Re: Diagnosed as Child

Hi Pookalooza Epilepsy can come back, but some types of epilepsy are specific to children and go away before you become an adult. So, it depends on the type of epilepsy your were diagnosed with. And dizzy spells could be related to other things, so it's important you have a chat with your doctor, wh...

Re: Sudden death in epilepsy

Hi Foxcroft Epilepsy Action believes that it is very important for people with epilepsy and their families to be aware of the risks associated with epilepsy, including SUDEP. If you don't know about it, you don't know how to try to reduce the risk of it happening. There is some information about SUD...
