Re: Itchy scars
Hi
I can see that you have tried conservative management to no success and I suggest getting your GP to refer you to a specialist scar clinic where an assessment will be made by the Doctor and possibly a course of steroid injection is an option as a next ladder of treatment.
Best regards

Dear Benjamin
Yes, there are available creams but I would recommend you visit your GP and have your spot properly examined and treated accordingly.

Re: Scars due to medication
I do get patients with the same medications as yours referred to me by the Dermatology team for camouflage treatment to try and help conceal the scar using cream and powder available through NHS prescription. It is best to get your GP to refer you to the Dermatology Department for further assessment...

Re: Itchy scar after hip replacement
It maybe that the scar is still active and this may respond to application of silicone sheet/gel, steroid tape or a course of steroid injection or laser treatment. I recommend you get this assess by your Doctor or GP and getting referred appropriately.

Re: Itchy scars
Hello Shelly There is not much evidence to say that remedy oil works for itchy scars. It may work for some but not for everyone. It is important to keep the scar well hydrated to help alleviate the itchiness with the application of cold non perfumed moisturiser cream (kept in the fridge). Kind regards

Re: Steroid injection
Hello
Some patients respond to the treatment quite well and some may respond slow or not at all. It is worth trying for few sessions and observe any changes following your treatment. You can then decide whether to continue with your treatment as planned.
I hope this helps

Re: Psoriasis dry patches
Hello The steroid creams can only be used for few days every now and then to reduce the inflammation which causes the itchiness and not as a daily routine. Also when the psoriasis is dry and scaly, it triggers itchiness hence it is important to keep the affected area hydrated using non perfumed mois...
