Re: Which moisturiser is best for you as eczema patient
During my flare ups when the dryness is the worst, I really like Glaxal Base! It's thick enough to stick around for a while, and moisturizes very nicely.

Re: My Intro - a Multitude of Issues!
Thanks Sunny! I haven't tried phototherapy yet. I've been doing some reading of published scientific articles on pompholyx and the jury really seems to be out on what treatments work best. Sounds as if topical or oral steroids are the most effective, followed by a series of other options, including ...

Re: Seriously giving up :(
I found that my face and neck eczema was caused by irritants and allergens in make up and skin creams. I cut out all face cream, lotion, scented soaps, and make up and my skin has never looked better! I use a plain castille soap on my face, and make my own moisturizer out of grapeseed oil, apple cid...

Re: Could this be pompholyx?
Yeah, I was like you! Afraid to pop! haha As a kid, I had eczema that was little tiny bubbles all over my hands, particularly between my fingers. I remember that when I would pop those, it would seem to encourage NEW ones to form. So my first few outbreaks of pompholyx, I studiously avoided any popp...

Re: My Intro - a Multitude of Issues!
Hey! Thanks for the responses! I have used Elidel for my contact dermatitis. It worked really well! This dyshidrosis thing is new to me, so I'm still feeling things out in that regard. The specialist I saw was happy to give a diagnosis, but wasn't really forthcoming with any treatment suggestions. I...

Re: Could this be pompholyx?
Hmmm I've found that with mine, if I pop the blisters and allow them to dry out, they heal a lot faster. If what you have is the same thing, then draining the blisters and soaking in salt water may help. ??? I only start to moisturize when the blisters are gone and it's moved on to the next thickeni...

Re: Could this be pompholyx?
Hey viking_snail! I posted here a couple of days ago about pompholyx/dyshidrotic eczema, but didn't receive any replies. :( I've very recently received a diagnosis of "acute vesiculobullous hand eczema" ... also known as pompholyx, dyshidrosis, dyshidrotic eczema, etc. etc. I've been findi...

Re: Allergy - Face and Neck Eczema (adult)
I was having eczema and contact dermatitis flare-ups on my face and neck, too. A patch test revealed that I am allergic to phenoxyethanol, fragrances, formaldehyde and formaldehyde-releasing agents, potassium dichromate, and Bronopol ... among other things. All of these compounds are found in lotion...
