Re: HRT already?
Hi, Your symptoms are very much suggestive of hormonal changes especially oestrogen deficiency Ie itchy skin, vaginal dryness, low libido, stress incontinence I would suggest HRT including testosterone treatment and not wait or hold on. There is no need to suffer. I would also recommend vaginal lase...

Re: Spotting
Hi
Spitting and irregular periods are a feature of perimenopause because hormones are fluctuating and depleting. Is also make sure you’re up to date with your cervical smear test.

Re: How do you know?
The guidelines are that if you are symptomatic and over 45yrs then you don’t need a blood test. However 5%of women naturally go through menopause under 45yrs so then it may be worth getting a test. During perimenopause the test ie FSH blood test can come back normal as hormone levels fluctuate in a ...

Re: Peri menopause & hypothyroidism
Hi Susie has given some great diet and lifestyle advice. 1in 4 perimenopausal women consider giving up work or going part time. Are your thyroid function tests optimal. Have you considered HRT? Re: Peri menopause
Hi,
Acne is common in the perimenopause because of hormonal imbalance.
There are a number if topical medications you could try.
You could also go into HRT if you wanted to regulate your hormones. You don’t have to wait until periods stop before commencing

Re: Night Sweats
Hi, I don’t think you should be denied HRT because of your weight. Albeit this should be addressed. Poor sleep can lead to less energy and motivation as well as causes wt gain because you feel mor hungry the following day. Sometimes once HRT is started women feel better because they sleep better and...

Re: Menopause
Hi
Average age of menopause is 51 and most women do go through it by 55. But some women do so later too so you may be one of those who is a late menopauser.
A late menopause increases your risk of ovarian cancer so it’s worth going to your GP for some blood tests and a general review.

Re: Large vagina
Dear Lianne, Vaginal laxity is common after children especially when there has been a tear or episiotomy and if you’ve had large babies. This can lead to loss of sensation during Intercourse and loss of sexual satisfaction. A procedure which could help and which I do perform on a number of women for...
