Re: long-term unemployment question

Unfortunately I never went to university. Therefore I do not have even half of your skills and talents. I can understand your employment worries. I can not work in a shop, either, because I have social anxiety. So I know the feeling. I even struggle to sit in an office for two hours. I could in the ...

Re: Does stress cause dementia?

I had a dear friend I lost to Dementia. His name was Michael and we were wonderful friends. But he had a head injury from age 14 after a car hit his bicycle. He was diagnosed with Dementia a fair few years after we met. But I knew he was older - and therefore our friendship wouldn't last forever. An...

Re: Does anybody suffer with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

Years ago I believe I could've been suffering from Chronis Fatique Syndrome, but was never diagnosed by the doctor. I believe I had the above mentioned condition because I didn't want to get out of bed, I did not want to join in activities with my friends, I did not work as hard at school as I could...

Re: Are eating disorders ever cured?

I don't think any eating disorder - or other psychiatric illness - can ever be "cured". The brain and mind has its ways. And the brain - the disorder - cannot be changed. It can be managed with lots of advice, support and love from family and friends. But it never goes away. Sadly, so many...

Re: My mood swings

You must be proud of yourself for wanting to ease these mood swings. I don't mean to sound patronising, though. You're being very honest about what you're feeling. I know it is tough for your family, too. BUT you can still lean on them and talk to them about your mood swings. They will be glad you'r...

Re: Lets Talk Eczema

My brother had Eczema as a child. We had to use a LOT of E45 cream. And you're right: there is nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. So many people have this skin condition.

Your post speaks truth.

Re: meditation

When I meditate I actually end up falling asleep! It is so relaxing, I just drop off. To be serious, though, if billions of people around the world meditate, there must be value in it and it must work and have a purpose. There is also so much advice on how to mediate. But taking a personal approach ...

Re: Unexplained weight gain - 19yo daughter

I am sorry to hear about your daughter gaining weight with no explaination. I recall I gained weight in about my early 20's. I didn't overeat: I just got curvy. I had been fairly skinny as a teenager, too. I do miss being skinny. I assume the doctor will advise exercise and avoiding too many calorie...

Re: I want to be okay with being alone

I agree 100% Prycejosh1987. If you love yourself and respect yourself, then others will respect you. No one is going to like/respect/admire someone who doesn't do that for themselves. People like people who like themselves. Being alone I am used to. BUT I still like company and being with friends &a...
