Does it go away by itself?

Hi, I've been on to some online men's forums regarding Phimosis and some men have said that they were too embarrassed to see a GP (so instead tried stretching) and eventually it went away by itself. Is this true/what is the likelihood of this happening? Does it depend on the severity? thanks

Re: Does it go away by itself?

Many thanks for your question. You highlight an important point; many men are too embarrassed to seek help for this condition and suffer needlessly for years.

A severe phimosis is unlikely to go away by itself. It depends on the underlying cause. In cases where for example an infection/fluid causing swelling/or injury has occurred things may improve once the initial cause has been eradicated.

If in doubt see a Urologist to get yourself checked out.
