Thin linning of the womb and border line sperm count.

I have recently been to a fertility clinic after trying 18 months and having a miscarriage 2008 tried again for another 8 months then decided to stop as it was having a strain on our relationship then started trying again Feb 2011 and miscarried in june 2011. my partner has borderline sperm count and i have a thin womb and one ovary that is not great. i have got caught not long after coming off the pill but have miscarried at around 7weeks 1st time and 2nd at 5-6 weeks.
i had a pct and they said my mucus is killing the sperm.
Can anyone give me advice on what to do next? they are going to do another pct too.i just want to know if thin womb still chance of having a family?

Re: Thin linning of the womb and border line sperm count.

There are many ways of helping to boost sperm count through nutrition and life style choices, such as no smoking and alcohol. There are many minerals that are very significant in sperm health such as zinc, selenium and manganese. Minerals can be tested for through hair mineral analysis so that we can determine what if any supplementation is needed. For the thin lining of your womb, have you had your cycle monitored to look at the oestrogen levels? There are therapies such as Homeopathy and acupuncture that may be able to help balance your hormone levels. It is not clear when you came of the pill but it may be that your hormones have not rebalanced since coming of the pill as this can take time.

Re: Thin linning of the womb and border line sperm count.

Thank you for the reply. I am going to look into acupuncture. I came off pill Feb 2011
We are both taking lots vitamins both very healthy weight and late 20s.
My partner has quit smoking which did improve his count a bit :) but I was worried about my thin womb.
But hopefully acpuncture might help. Trying for a baby is an emotional rollarcoaster so thank you for answers as
It's frustrating that some docs don't really tell us much and I don't know what too do.

Ignore the post coital test and please be reassured that you ahve conceived twice in such a short space of time even with your mild issues! Age is a factor too though

Re: Thin linning of the womb and border line sperm count.

Hi, I assume you mean that the lining of the womb is thin-- was that picked up on Ultrasound scan? The importance of thickness of the lining of the womb in spontaneous pregnancy is not clear, though we know it can effect the success rates of IVF treatment. I would not be too concerned at present. I do not believe that PCT is of any value, and I do not feel that it helping you. If there is a borderline sperm count, it depends on what is meant by borderline. Perhaps you should discuss this with a Fertility specialist who can give you a better idea whether you need to consider any other treatment options. Your age, amd duration of trying to concieve are very important factors to keep in mind. BW
