long term protopic??

My doctor at university prescribed me tacrolimus protopic 0.03% about a year and a half ago after I was recommended by a friend who saw a specialist. It was amazing how much better my skin was after using it and after a couple of times using it I only needed it every so often for a few days at a time, my eczema completely disappeared under the control of a small dose of tacrolimus. Now my new doctor says she doesn't recommend using it and my eczema has flared up badly again. I don't know who to listen to! Should I stop using it completely?
