Symmetrical Eczema on Each Hand

Hello! I’m new here, and I’m so glad there is a resource like this. So back in October I started getting a spot of irritation on my wedding ring finger at the base. I thought it was the ring that irritated it, so I switched to a thin wedding band and wore it only occasionally. About two months ago, the same irritation (itchy) showed up on my right hand, in exactly the same spot, at the base of my ring finger. It has now gotten worse, lots of little bumps and weepy oozy, itchy and swollen. On only those two spots, identically at the base of the right and left hand ring fingers. My husband says it must be systemic….I haven’t worn anything in those fingers for months now….I would soooooo appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

Re: Symmetrical Eczema on Each Hand

Sorry to hear that and there're quite a few possibilities for the rash so I suppose seeing a dermatologist will help give some answers. The symmetrical could be in touch with something that causes allergy - your spouse's ring? In the meantime, would a rash cream/ mild hydrocortisone work?

Hope you find some answers and relief soon, take care,
