Re: Need some advice

In England, you have to be 16 or older to have homosexual (gay) or heterosexual (straight) sex; however, we want to make sure that if you are in a relationship it’s a safe and caring and healthy one. If you have difficulty speaking to your mother you could attend your GP's surgery, your local contraceptive service or Brook http://www.brook.org.uk/. If you live in the west midlands you could attend our clinic at sexual health Birmingham http://www.sexualhealthbirmingham.nhs.uk.

You do not need your mother's consent to start using contraception, however we would encourage you to talk to your mother - as she may be able to support you with any worries about sex and relationships. Contraception will protect you from unwanted pregnancy. Using condoms will also protect against sexually transmitted infections.
