Questran and FODMAPs
Further to my query about BAD and Questran.
I saw my GP yesterday and, although she had very limited knowledge of BAD, she agreed to give me a trial run of Questran. However, she was unsure as to whether I should stop my very successful low FODMAPs diet whilst taking it (I'm okay on it at least 90% of the time).
It seems to me that if I continue with the diet and take Questran as well, I run the risk of causing constipation - particularly as I take a minimum of 90mg Co-codamol (in 2 doses) daily which can cause a problem in the same way.
I would be very grateful for your thoughts on this.

Re: Questran and FODMAPs
Thanks - you are correct about the risk of constipation with Co-codamol, Questran and to a lesser extent the low FODMAPs diet. If the Co-codamol cannot be cut out, then it is a question of starting with a low dose (say half sachet of Questran) and gradually increasing the dose according to response / side-effects.
Best wishes
