smear test

This ones a little embarrassing.I am due a smear test but I find it incredibly painful and uncomfortable and always come out with sprained muscles. Is there any way I could have one where I would be asleep.I know it sounds stupid but I've got to the point where i'm putting it off.The practise nurses don't seem to understand the pain i'm in with ME
