Symptoms can vary from child to child but generally they are characterised by behaviours such as inattention, difficulty in concentrating and hyperactivity.
Common symptoms:
- difficulty with attentions span - again this can be a problem at school where it may be difficult for a child to pay attention for long periods during lessons
disorganised - tends to forget things easily and may have difficulty in completing homework
easily distracted from an ongoing task
fidgeting and restlessness - again this is particularly noticeable in the classroom and in the home the parent may notice that the child may be very noisy and over-active at play
