Won't people think I'm boring?
What would your advice be to someone who was worried that not drinking would affect their social life?
Especially now the busy Christmas period is upon us is there a way that people can monitor their drinking without fearing that they will be having less fun and without worrying that people are thinking they are "boring"?

I think there is a mythical opinion that people who don't drink are dull and boring, on some sort of mission to spoil everyone else's fun!
It's certainly not the case with those who I know who don't drink, don't think any of us have a problem at all with moderate drinkers and those who do know how to control it. From experience I think the most dull, boring and regretful times are when you have no idea how good the party was that you went to, and can only rely on what others tell you. The prospect of finding that out the morning after the night before can be pretty awful.
Remembering that you had a good time, having great conversations with friends old and new, and feeling confident enough to know that drinking doesn't make you any more special than you are already is a great place to be!
