Re: What is a healthy weight
Hi,
You sound as though you should be pretty fit seeing as you walk for an hour every day - well done!
You don't give your height and weight, so it's impossible to say whether or not you're overweight. The standard measure used by the NHS to calculate whether you are overweight or not is the Body Mass Indicator (BMI).
To find out more about your BMI and how to calculate it, go my recent post on the topic: viewtopic.php?f=657&t=7478#p20727 . You'll also find a link to the NHS Choices online BMI calculator there.
Hope this helps

Re: What is a healthy weight
Here are some thoughts.
A statistician called Flegal recently caused uproar with her statistical report on millions of people. Have a read of this to give you the heads up: http://www.nature.com/news/the-big-fat-truth-1.13039
If you have a full 'medical MOT' and are in a clean bill of health it is likely that you are at a healthy weight. It is possible to be obese and healthy and fit. It is possible to be skinny and healthy and fit. It is also quite possible to be the 'perfect' weight and unhealthy and unfit. Weight does not correlate to health. The only thing that correlates to health is health...so if all your health markers are showing you are healthy, doesn't that mean you are healthy at your weight?
Hopefully this gives some thoughts for you!
