Can’t figure out what’s wrong with my skin.

I have weird bumps that I cannot seem to figure out if they are fungal acne or closed comedones. They are covering my entire face. I also get painful cyst like acne. Someone please help.

Hi anon121212,

Thank you for posting about your skin condition, along with the photograph. We do hope someone will recognise your symptoms or have some ideas of what it may be and reply to your post soon. Unfortunately we are unable to give specific medical advice on individual conditions here but you may want to try contacting one of our clients ' Chuckling Goat'. They explain how your gut microbiome can impact your skin and an imbalance in good/bad bacteria can influence whether you develop various skin complaints such as acne.

Hi there,

Thanks for sending the image along - as they say, a picture says a thousand words. It looks like nodulocystic acne and I can also see evidence of pitted scarring. Have you seen your GP for conventional acne treatment? If they're not sure, they should refer you to a specialist given the scarring.

Disclaimer - I'm a consultant dermatologist in South London.
