Sounds like you may have an enlarged prostate and need an assessment of your urinary symptoms
GP should get you to do a IPSS symptom score, examine your prostate again and consider the PSA blood test.
Might be worth a referral to a urologist to get a full assessment
I would recommend a urologist does a flow rate and residual volume measurement, checks your kidney function as well as the above
Probably you just need a mild tablet to help your waterworks such as tamsulosin.

Hi

from a GP perspective! You are describing classic symptoms of benign enlargement of the prostate and what you do about this should depend on the bother the symptoms cause you - if little bother, you don't need to do much....

If bothersome, discuss again with your GP. You might want to think over the pros and cons of a PSA test - Prostate Cancer UK website and specialist helpline is a good way of finding out more about this...
