Sigmoidoscopy Investigations

Getting a GPs appointment, let alone a referral is a nightmare. How often ought a sigmoidoscopy be done?

Re: Sigmoidoscopy Investigations

speaking as a GP I know how difficult things are at the moment for patients - practices are understaffed and overwhelmed with work, and access to primary care around the country is not what it should be.

re sigmoidoscopy - this is a bowel investigation and so a little outside our remit on this forum - but as you can see here - http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/bowel-canc ... ction.aspx - a one off sigmoidoscopy has been introduced at the age of 55 - otherwise this test is only done in response to symptoms.
