Treating burst blood vessels on daughter's face

Postby DaisyDoo39 on Mon Apr 08, 2019 8:23 am

So my 10 year old has a burst blood vessel on the end of her nose.

It appeared about 3 years ago and was very faint to begin with but over the years it has got darker and more apparent.

We visited the doctor a few months ago and he seemed unconcerned about it, as it's not raised but my daughter is VERY self-conscious about.

I was considering paying for her to have IPL treatment but I was worried if it could possibly make it worse and/or scarring.

(Hopefully if it's worked there should be photos attached showing the progression of the burst blood vessel on her nose.)

I'd be very grateful for your input. She's going to secondary school in September and I'm worried about bullying because of it, she's had comments from the kids in her primary school already and older kids are even worse.

I had two burst blood vessels on my face when I was younger. They were quite big, one on the side of my nose and one under my eye. They appeared together when I was about seven years old and I remember my mum taking me to the doctor on a few occasions. She was really worried. However, although they stayed with me for a few years, they completely vanished of their own accord when I got older. I can't even remember now how old I was. I think I was about 12 or 13? I do have a photo were you can see them (somewhere) but they completely disappeared without having any treatment. Hope this helps.
