Acne scars and ageing skin
Hello, I am 41 years old and no loner suffer from acne but I still have some mild acne scars on my face caused by acne in my 20s. I would like to know whether mild acne scars get worse (deeper) when the skin ages? Thank you

Re: Acne scars and ageing skin
Hello,
Thanks for the question. In fact acne scars tend to improve with time. Sunken acne scars tend to blend in with the surrounding skin as skin elasticity reduces with age. Sunken acne scars can be treated by a number of techniques such as microneedling, subscision, laser treatment, use of topical acids and even excision. A dermatologist with experience in treatment of acne scars would be able to discuss the options with you.
Best wishes
