azathioprine drug

Postby GBrown84 on Wed Sep 04, 2019 2:02 pm

Hi I'm new here and want some advice.

I have atopic eczema and I have severe flare ups,
My Dermatologist has recommended I take Azathioprine to help clear up my Eczema. However I am recluntant to take a new drug as I have never heard of it and heard the side effects are nasty and your prone to getting cancer if you are on it long term!

Has anyone ever taken this drug or heard of it?

Thanks
Gemma

Hi Gemma

Thank you for your recent post. We understand your anticipation when prescribed a new drug. we are currently running an online clinic relating to skin conditions where you can ask our experts all and any questions, we've included the link for you to sign up as it may well be worth asking one of the experts their thoughts on the drug prescribed, or whether there is anything else you could ask your GP/Dermatologist to prescribe, http://www.talkhealthpartnership.com/online_clinics/online_clinic_on_skin_conditions_2019.php.

We hope that helps. Please let us know how you get on.

Kind regards
