Hi there
If you suffer with IBS and irritable bladder does this make you more prone to having irritable kidney?

There is no clinically proven link between irritable bowel syndrome and an unstable bladder - however having said that we have many patients who complain of both bowel and bladder symptoms. I suppose it is not surprising as they are very close to each other in the pelvis and certainly things like constipation can lead to significant bladder disturbances. There are many unfortunate patients who have spinal cord injuries and other neurological problems who can have very disabling bowel and bladder problems.
Hope that helps
