Daytime Drinking

Hello,

I hope you're well. I actually haven't had any alcohol at all since New Year's Eve (one small glass while watching the fireworks on TV, that's the kind of exciting life I lead still developing chronic illness!) - it's not from choice as much as from not feeling well enough or wanting anything, it's simply not all that appealing any more. I do wonder though, and I ask for my own reference and for anyone else this may apply to, what effects daytime drinking may have. The usual thought is drinking at night can help you nod off but may make you worse for wear and obviously it's not a healthy route, relying on a drink to get some shut eye. If you drink during the day (not binge drinking, just a few any time between 12pm-7pm for instance), I don't know how much would have likely worn off by bedtime. Do you think those seemingly harmless glasses of wine with lunch or a few beers on a lazy Sunday afternoon could negatively affect your sleep and routine?

Thanks for your question, it takes about 30 minutes to clear each unit of alcohol. so if there is anough time between your daytime drinking and sleep there will be no effect. However alcohol during the day will make you feel sleepy.
