Here's My Story

Postby linedadelas on Fri Mar 20, 2020 11:34 am

Hello I'm new to this great site so I thought I'd share my story.

My eczema broke out when I was in high school. It was the worst thing that could have happened to me at the time, I had it on my face, neck, arms, legs, and back. It made me miss a lot of school, and of course made my already low self-esteem become non existent, I wore long sleeves and long pants in 100 degree weather, getting weird looks from people who didn't understand. I was a wreck. My parents were great through it all, taking me to the doctors, putting up with my constant irritableness due to my lack of sleep due to scratching, they are great people, I couldn't have asked for better parents to help me through.

Now I'm 23 years old, still struggling with eczema, still struggling with self-esteem, especially now that I'm overweight, I've tried diet and exercise, but exercise makes me sweat and sweat makes my eczema go crazy. I hate that I have to be this way. I've never had a boyfriend, I'm so tired of being lonely. I'm so tired of life being like this, I hate it. My friend's are really great, but they're all getting married, or are married or are in committed relationships so being around them make me feel even lonelier.

All of this because of eczema. I've tried and tried and tried to get it under control but sometimes it just seems hopeless.

Hi linedadelas,

Welcome to the site and thank you for posting in the forum. Sorry to hear how eczema has impacted so many areas of your life. Unfortunately we are unable to give specific medical advice on individual conditions here, but hopefully other members suffering with this condition will reply soon. You may want to check out The British Skin Foundation's website and their eczema fact sheet here:

https://www.britishskinfoundation.org.uk/eczema

Also, a lot of people have found balancing their micro-biome can help eczema. Please find a link to one of our client's websites. They have helped a lot of people with eczema. It makes very interesting reading:

We hope you are able to find a way soon to get the eczema under control.

Kind regards
