Researchers at University College London have discovered that children with slimmer parents are three times more likely to be slim than children with parents who are overweight.

It has been known for some time that obesity runs in families but this is the first study to look at slimness.  The study concluded that there is a strong link between children and their parent’s body size and that the strongest predictor of a child’s body weight is their parent’s body shape.
