Haha – love!

16 Feb 2014

Today’s post is courtesy of Mr WLB…

‘WLB asked me (or told me, a little aggressively) to write something today for you as she was busy planning this weeks quotes and recipes to share with you.

I think she is feeling a little stressed out at the moment, so I nervously accepted!

I got to thinking about why I love WLB. I’m sure she will go away and psychoanalyse them – as women get the wrong end of the stick a lot! (This is WLB here…I have just warned him of the dangers of generalisation!)

1 – Her sense of humour. Nothing is off limits in our household! I like being myself around her and am not afraid to tell a controversial or inappropriate joke.

2 – Her directness. She doesn’t beat about the bush and gets to the point very quickly. I’m more laid back than WLB but it is a good thing that she has definitely toughed me up over the years!

3 – Her caring nature especially on Children in Need and Red Nose Day. Sometimes I have to hide her ‘phone to stop her from sending multiple text messages at £10 a pop! Also, she will help anyone if she can and often puts others before herself.

4 – Being able to share her weightloss journey with you. If there were qualifications in weight loss, WLB would have a Masters degree in it. She really has been there and worn the t-shirt…I’m looking forward to presenting her with my favourite football teams t-shirt when she gets to target! Even though I know she is not a fan.

5 – Her hair. She has long hair which I like. (WLB here again…I’d best not get that elfin crop I fancy at target then!)

6 – Her sandwich-making skills. She constructs the best sandwiches and even cuts them into triangles to replicate shop-purchased ones. Her attempts always look better than mine, and she creates amazing fillings for me. (WLB here again…it was the only way I could get some of his 5-a-day down his neck at one point!)

7 – Her commitment to losing weight. I have no idea how hard it is, but to lose 18st 10.5lbs is a brilliant achievement. She could hardly walk a few yards and is now in the position to do gruelling 1:1 personal training sessions. Sometimes I don’t think she knows how incredible she is.

8 – Her handbag fetish, as it gives me good ideas for presents.

9 – Her untidiness. I’m lazy so it’s good that she isn’t anal about having a showhome house.

10 – Listening to my advice of setting up a blog to track her weightloss. I had no idea that it would be so helpful to so many people, neither did she.

I could go on, but I don’t want to give WLB a big head and I’m wanting to watch some football on the TV so will leave it there for now!’

Bless him, he does make me smile…he sent me a text the other day saying, ‘I love you lots as you are trying so hard with the gym. Your face after the workout matched your t- shirt! Purple!’ And when I got frustrated the other day and stuck for words for the blog – which is a rare occurrence – he sent me another text saying, ‘Helping people by writing your blog makes me so proud and also helps you stay on track. Keep it up!’ After a messy cooking session recently, he sent me yet another of his texts saying, ‘I love how you piss me off by spraying FryLight onto the gas hob to create a firework and leave me to clean it up!’ Although I must point out not to try the firework FryLight thing…I do not want to be held responsible for singed eyebrows. It is quite good fun though and I pretend to be a ‘professional’ chef…although I doubt they bother fannying around with FryLight and naked flames! :-)

Haha…I would say that his little points are a sign of a healthy relationship…lots of love, with a dash of irritation thrown in! ;-)

So today has been good. I have been kept busy – housework, cooking, prepping for my upcoming week, seeing my niece and nephew and catching up with my Dad too. Mr WLB and I had a flick through some of the ‘Healthy Food Guide’ magazines today. He seems to respond to the food ideas in these far better than he does to those in Slimming World…even though the advice and ideas are very similar! I finished the last couple of episodes of ‘Orange is the new Black’ and am awaiting series two, which starts in June I think. In the meantime, I am going to amuse myself with ‘House of Cards’.

Breakfast: Banana porridge (5 syns).photo 1Lunch: Smoked salmon scrambled eggs (2 x HEB).photo 2Dinner: Cottage pie and veggies (2.5 syns).photo 4Snacks: Nakd bar (7.5 syns).photo 3A good food day. My usual porridge for brekkie, and my much-loved salmon scrambled eggs. I treated Mr WLB tonight. I am not a fussy cook, and whilst I know that a cottage pie could hardly be classed as ‘fussy’, it means lots of pots and pans which is not my thing. It is a favourite of his though, so I got cooking this afternoon and we have just enjoyed a nice cottage pie. I even managed to save some veggies for a dish that I am planning tomorrow. I tried a beef gravy pot for the first time today. They are like the stock pots, but gravy versions and are 2.5 syns a pot…I like the convenience of knowing the syns in what I eat, so a little contained pot is great for me. And it was a Nakd bar for my snack today…I bloody love them!

Exercise: A PJ rest day…bliss.

WeightLossBitch

On a health and fitness driven journey to lose over 32st / 448lbs / 203kgs – yes, it is a considerable amount – I am committed to losing my excess weight without the aid of weight loss surgery, diet pills, or quick fixes…as there aren’t any! Changing my eating habits and building up my fitness levels, along with addressing the ‘head issues’ will be crucial in order for me to achieve my goal. Living in England as a 31 year old super morbidly obese woman can be challenging to say the least. I have been shouted at in the street and verbally abused far too many times to mention; hence the name ‘Weight Loss Bitch’…the day I am just called a ‘bitch’ instead of a ‘fat bitch’ will be the day that I know I have cracked my weight loss! With many reasons to lose this weight I am documenting my journey for a number of reasons. Firstly, I would like to keep a record of the ups and downs, the highs and lows, and the challenges I face with such an enormous task to tackle. Secondly, I would also like to inspire and encourage other people who are in a similar situation and to show them that significant amounts of weight can be lost naturally…with a bit of motivation, hard work, dedication and will power. Thirdly, all of the blogging, Facebook-ing, Tweet-ing, Pinterest-ing and YouTube-ing keeps me occupied and keeps my fingers out of the fridge!
