Health fact or fad: Is fat loss just a calorie equation?


Ever been on a calorie-restricted diet, only to find that you’ve not lost any weight? Join the club! Most diets end in failure, but many of us continue to believe that shedding body fat is simply a case of ‘calories in Vs calories out’.

While your GP or PT might try to have you believe that weight loss is a super simple lifestyle choice, there’s a growing body of evidence to suggest that body fat is lost via a plethora of non-weight related lifestyle factors, as well as adherence to a balanced diet. 

So if it’s not merely a case of eating fewer calories than we use, what other issues go into successful fat loss?
