Well, great news! I’ve lost another .25 of a pound which puts my total weight loss to date at 8.75 pounds! Whoopeeee!

You may be wondering why I’m getting so excited about such a tiny weight loss. Well, I’ve been stuck and lost no weight for weeks and weeks and weeks. I know why – lack of exercise! But I was struggling to find the time to actually exercise. You may think this is a weak excuse, and yes on the surface it is. Now I don’t want to bore you with my domestic and work arrangements BUT I do think many people struggle to find and make the time to exercise.

I’m up at 6.15am sorting children, husband, cat and Uncle Tom Cobbly and all with food, snacks and lunch boxes. Then I have to get myself ready to leave at around 7.30am to drop the kids to school. I’m at work from 8.15am – 5-5.30pm. I pick the kids up from school and we generally get home around 6pm. Until very recently it’s then been dark and the thought of walking in the dark and cold weather has clearly not inspired me! Plus I’m knackered and just want to eat, relax and sleep. I’m sure many of you will identify with this!

That all important 25 minute daily walk!

But, the nights are getting lighter and British Summer Time begins at the weekend so it means I can go for a brisk 25-30 minute walk as soon as I get home from work, and plan to every night from now on. And, I’ve really enjoyed it so far. Even my husband has come with me and it’s actually enabled us to chat about our day without the constant interruption of the children. So lots of benefits all round really.

I know it may sound daft but I’m sure the 2 walks I’ve done so far this week are starting to make that all important difference I need to kick start my weight loss again. I’ve gone from no exercise at all to what will be almost 3 hours of exercise a week!!

I’m off on holiday in 3 weeks time. I would like to lose another 5 pounds before I go so at least I will have lost one stone overall. I will keep you up to date … I’m off now to have my cuppa soup and Rybiva lunch!
